Our role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join the Construction & Maintenance team.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will play an important role in providing commercial and contractual support to manage infrastructure projects, supporting on the preparation of the tender and contract documents for Civil and Electrical engineering works.

You will be working in partnership with the delivery teams to understand project requirements, help in formulating cost plans as well as budgeting for individual projects so no day is ever the same adding lots of variety to your role.

We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service skills and either has some experience as a Quantity Surveyor or has recently qualified and has the drive and tenacity to develop their career in the role.

Other accountabilities include:

  • Undertaking cost analysis, along with assisting in establishing a client’s requirements;
  • Supporting on the delivery of pre-contract services and manage all contract management including high value, multi-disciplined projects for the business area you support;
  • Establishing yourself as a subject matter expert, supporting forecast and control spend on projects;
  • Leading in the evaluation of tenders to ensure that cost effective solutions are delivered in line with the business plan.

 

What we are looking for

  • A minimum qualification at degree level or equivalent (desirable) or alternatively be currently studying towards a related subject qualification (essential);
  • Experience of cost value construction project reporting, project management accounts, cost control and forecasting;
  • Able to provide first class customer service;
  • Knowledge of construction contract terms including NEC, IET and JCT;
  • Ability to build strong relationships and have good communication skills;
  • Results focused with a drive to make a difference;
  • Strong planning and organisation skills;
  • Experience collating and interpreting numerical data;
  • Experience of working with framework contracts;
  • A full valid UK driving licence.
